Welcome to “RussandRandy.com.”
Both of us are physicians, Russ likes to refer to himself as a “Booger Doctor,” that is, he’s an Ear Nose and Throat doctor and I’m a retina specialist. We have each independently been successful with online marketing techniques to build our private practices. We have each founded separate marketing companies catering to health care. Now together, our mission is to teach you, our colleagues, how to succeed on the world wide web.
We understand how unique and difficult marketing in healthcare can be.
Marketing, after all, has traditionally been forbidden….because doctors simply don’t advertise or market.
But marketing isn’t advertising. Marketing, in it’s purest form, is simply understanding the needs of your consumer. In a modern medical setting, this means acknowledgement that our consumer, our patients, now expect us to have a digital presence online.
It’s become expected that all doctors and hospitals have a website and communicate more than just a name, address and phone number, insurance participation and a map. The consumer now expects to find answers to their health related problems and questions, information about their doctors and how the prefer to practice.
We understand you are listening now, because you understand this is an important part of your business plan and that you understand that you’ve got to get started.
You are probably the only one in your practice who understands that marketing online is the only way to grow your practice. It’s the only way to grow your business….because our consumers demand it.
Marketing in healthcare is new. We are probably the last industry to adopt the strategies and benefits of marketing. Yes, this even includes the lawyers who’ve been a few steps ahead of us, especially in this digital/Internet revolution.
Healthcare, as a business, is unique in a variety of ways. We are heavily regulated, both in the way we practice and the way we operate as a business, we have a unique 3rd party payor system, yet the doctor and patient make the purchase decisions.
We are most unique; however, in the fact that our business owners, our authorities have lackluster interest in marketing at best.
Doctors simply don’t want to market…and we know that. Remember, we are doctors, too.
Your digital marketing needs vary and so will our episodes.
