With or without a social media account or website, everyone has an online reputation to maintain.
Your online reputation is integral to your practice. Your reputation, the comments and reviews found anywhere on the Internet, will help your next patient decide to make an appointment.
It’s important to find and respond to all comments and reviews. Negative reviews may be neutralized and the authors of positive reviews should be acknowledged and thanked (it encourages others to leave future comments).
Where is your online reputation? How can you monitor the entire Internet? Listen to what we have to say!.
Finding Your Reputation
Comments and reviews about you can be left almost anywhere on the Internet, but can be divided into just a few categories:
- Websites and accounts you control
- Review Sites
- Social Media
- Other Websites (competitors, forums)
Most of your reputation will be found on the numerous review sites and social media sites (including Google Business, Yelp, FaceBook). There can be countless places to leave a comment about you or your practice.
Google Alert
Set up a Google Alert. It’s free and only requires an GMail account. Listen how to use a Google Alert to notify you by email about anything new on the Internet containing your name or your practice name.
Google indexes almost everything on the Internet. A Google Alert will monitor all the sites indexed by the Google search engines.
Yelp and Angie’s List
These are generally not indexed by Google. Claim or set up your accounts on these websites. You will receive an email alerting you of any new comments or reviews.
Managing your online reputation has just become easy…and automatic!
