If you want “next level” or “best practices” eBook, read on and listen to this episode. Some of our tips are obvious and some not so.
Here we go:
Know Your Topic
Admit it. There are topics which energize you and those that don’t. Pick a niche area of medicine in which you are most knowledgeable and comfortable writing about. Avoid showing off how much you know as a health provider.
Pick topics which naturally show your expertise and authority, but do not create an exhaustive review.
Marketing and Landing Pages
As you write your book, think about how you will market your new content. Visualize and think about titles and headlines for your landing pages and create a plan for marketing your new eBook.
Write About What Your Patients Want…not What They Need
Stop playing doctor.
Pick a subject which your patients want to learn about and share versus content you feel they need to know. Big difference. Patients eager to learn will read, whereas the rest is boring.
Write Efficiently
We talk about a few tools to get you to map out your writing strategy and to do so efficiently. MS Word may be great for many of you, but have you considered mind mapping software?
Get an Editor
Doesn’t have to be a professional, in fact, find a volunteer: an office mate or even a neighbor. Ask them if you are getting your message through or have you lost your train of thought?
Also, think about surveying your existing patients about interesting topics for an eBook.
eBooks are a great way to establish your authority and build trust with your patients.
Best of luck!
