Telehealth visionary, CEO and founder, Dr. Michael Greiwe talks to us about OrthoLive, a telemedicine platform specifically designed for orthopedics. Originally conceived in 2015, this pioneering technology proved not only timely, but allowed him to uniquely market and grow his practice.

“Telehealth Didn’t Hurt Us”
Telemedicine Visionary
Dr. Greiwe is an orthopedic surgeon with OrthoCincy and practices in Kentucky. His quest to develop a telehealth platform came from his desire to improve the lives of his patients who can drive hours for medical care.
He believed that for him to succeed, the platform had to be easy to use for the patients, and improve the efficiency for the physicians. Remember, he conceived of this 5-6 years ago…before COVID.
Practice Efficiency
Greiwe says that the decision to add a support team proved crucial to making this easy for patients to use. As it turned out, this new technology also helped the physicians by improving efficiency.
It was a win-win.
Performing his own internal analysis of over 250 telemedicine visits, Dr. Greiwe proved that OrthoLive could :
- improve the lives of patients by saving them time
- improve efficiency of the physicians and grow the practice
- market new technology to grow OrthoCincy
COVID Shut Down Servers
With the recent pandemic, OrthoCincy was perfectly situated. Both patients and physicians were already experienced with this digital telehealth platform. Griewe says that though COVID crashed their servers, the practice and the company was more than ready for this unforeseen boom.
SpringHealth Live
While OrthoLive was created for orthopedic practices, SpringHealthLive was created for non-ortho physicians. Like its cousin, SpringHealthLive was conceived to improve patient care/satisfaction, improve physician efficiency and increase practice revenue.
