This week Randy interviews chief marketing officer (CMO), Chris Panebianco, of Bankers Healthcare Group. Chris has been marketing to healthcare for most of his career and today we ask about how marketing has changed and about his personal experiences with finding a physician for he and his family.
This post corresponds to our latest podcast episode of "RussandRandy.com" - a podcast from doctors for doctors on Healthcare and Medical Internet Marketing. We hope you like:
"Interview with CMO Chris Panebianco"
Bankers Healthcare Group
As CMO, Chris has been marketing to healthcare and physicians for decades. While he won't admit, marketing has become very exacting and is now data driven compared to the "advertising" they used to do just a few years ago.
BHG is an organization which caters to the financial needs of physicians and health related groups. Their belief is to provide a brand that healthcare members deserve; quality, value and cutting edge.
Chris reviews how marketing to healthcare has changed over the recent years, but they still remain true to certain aspects of direct mail. Might this reflect how conservative we are? (yes).
We came across Chris and BHG by accident.
Both RussandRandy.com and BHG are sometimes featured on ReachMD.com. ReachMD is a CME channel. We connected after our paths intersected on ReachMD.com. Quite simply, with so few of us in the "healthcare" marketing space, we need to band together.
Chris Needs Doctors
Chris has a family including 3 kids. He recently lost his own primary care doc due to retirement and has kids who need docs.
As a patient and parent, but a professional marketer, we were curious to learn his beliefs and expectations for choosing his own docs. How does he research and choose his docs? Does he expect doctors to market?
Chris does expound about review sites and why they are so vital to the patient/consumer. You may be surprised to hear why reviews and review sites can be so important to a patient choosing his/her next doctor.
See you next week!
