In this episode, Russ and I break down exactly what your “lead magnet” can be in exchange for the contact information of a website visitor. Lead magnets or value offers are the first steps to growing your email list.
Don’t be afraid of the new terms, you are probably already using a “lead magnet” if you have started an email list.
What is a Lead Magnet?
A lead magnet (aka irresistible bribe, value offer, value proposition) is a promise of exchanging something of value for an email address. Remember, the email address gives you the ability to engage your readers by sending them email newsletters, for example.
Usually the “bribe” or lead “magnet” has irresistible value. Your reader can not resist submitting his/her email in return for the free value offer.
Listen for examples of what you can offer as a physician or health care institution. You probably are already offering something in return for an email address…you just didn’t know it had a name!
Engagement is the First Step
To convert a reader or follower of your website to an actual patient involves an entire process…they must;
- Find your website
- Submit contact information (after considering value offer)
- You provide value through lead magnet
- Build trust through value
- Make an appointment
The lead magnet is what you promise to deliver in exchange for their email address.
Remember from last week, there are ultimately only two CTAs or Calls to Action of your website;
- Collect email addresses
- Make an appointment
