Meet “Karen D3“
Russ interviews Karen Decuir-DiNicola, or Karen D3, of WaitWell.com. WaitWell is borne from Karen’s personal experience as a patient. She is a two time cancer survivor.
Karen has over 27 years experience with corporate America. Of her many achievements are those focused on employer-employee relationships, peer to peer interactions and has expertise in diversity and inclusion.
She is now an expert in waiting.
Patient Waiting Experience
WaitWell was borne from countless hours of waiting and experiencing the anxiety of the unknown. What’s the news today? What will the doctor say?
Incredibly, despite great outcomes with the doctor, patients can remain angry about they were disrespected through their waiting experience.
Karen’s solution was to turn the usual poor patient experience into a solution for both the patient and the health provider. WaitWell addresses the wasted anxiety produced by time spent waiting.
The patient waiting experience involves much more than just the single patient. The patient waiting experience extends to the family and friends. Great examples include surgical waiting rooms or the waiting room of the Emergency Department.
Every Patient Has Anxiety
Karen talks about how anxiety, the “elephant” in every waiting room, is generally ignored. She recalls from her own experience, that the waiting room can be a cold and caustic place.
“No one ever inquired about my psychological state.” Listen how Karen uses a team approach to make the patient waiting experience a positive experience.
Transform your waiting experience into positive and memorable part of your brand promise.
